Summary

This project will provide financial support and food items for poor beggars in Nnewi, Anambra State, in order to help them survive the economic challenges being faced in Nigeria. Nigeria is known as the poverty capital of the world, with about 90 million (45%) of it's population living below poverty line. These beggars include men, women and children who are poor, sick, blind, deaf and dumb, disabled etc. Your donation will help to provide them with the basic needs of life, which includes food.

Challenge

Beggars move around the streets of Nnewi, seeking for financial support and food, in order to sustain themselves. They include people who are poor, sick, blind, deaf and dumb, disabled etc. About 40% (83 million) of the people who are living in Nigeria, are living in poverty and it is estimated that this will increase to 45% (90 million). The insecurity and bad leadership in the country has affected virtually all aspects of life, making it difficult for the less privileged to survive.

Solution

We will use the funds that would be raised through this microproject, to provide financial support and food items for these poor beggars, in order to help them take good care of themselves, feed properly, be healthy and avoid some health problems that are associated with poor feeding.

Long-Term Impact

These beggars will be able to take good care of themselves, have a reliable source of income and may even quit begging, as a source of livelihood.
